Diva Valentangle Challenge

Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #254: “Valentangle”. So here is what the Diva says this week “This Sunday is Valentines Day! this week’s challenge is: Create a tile or piece with a Valentine’s Day Flair, hearts as strings, red or pink microns or gelly rolls… whatever floats your LoveBoat!!” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) Diva Valentangle.

Zentangle Enticed Me

Zentangle has become popular the last several years and I have been intrigued and putting my attention to it. I put my name with a © more prominently to protect my work. Here is my Diva Valentangle 🙂 :)  Moment of truth … I made this ZIA and absolutely loved it – so I have been waiting for the perfect reason to use it.   As soon as I saw the Diva challenge, I went YES!!!  And went off and found this.  Trio always reminds me of Valentine’s Day.  Add pink and to me it couldn’t be more perfect.  It took me a long time to make and is better than what I could whip up today.  Also XYP looks quilted to me like this and again it looks sweet and girly to me!! :)  :)  Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. I will get caught up again – been sick and painting the walls in the house 🙂 🙂 🙂

Which Tangle is Which?

Trio is the 3 hearts.  Marasu is the 2 curled, rolled up snakes. XYP is the 3 quilted chains across this tile.   🙂 🙂 There you have it!! 🙂

New to Me U Challenge

SuzyMosh Creations puts out a challenge for folks to make a representation of “That’s New to Me!” This week is the SuzyMosh Creations – New to Me U. Suzy says “I will post each Sunday a randomly selected letter that your new pattern has to start with. If you feel adventurous, use more than one new pattern that starts with that letter. … Remember that these need to be patterns you’ve never drawn before. You may use any other patterns that you wish in your drawing. You must use at least one New to Me pattern starting with the letter U.” So this is a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using New to Me U – Unyun.

Zentangle Enticed Me

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I am able to be more in the flow again – whew! So above is my New to Me U – Unyun Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!!  There was one I saw which I was inspired by and then couldn’t find it again :)  Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!! I am still in the process of catching up. I now have a rhythm of what challenges I am entering … so that should help 🙂

Which Tangle is Which?

Unyun is the stripe starting in the bottom left and going up to top – almost at the right. You can see all the layers of the onion.  The Piano is the 2 stripes in the top left.  After Unyun to the right comes Coaster – the roller coaster or fan.  Then Xyp is the bottom right corner.  There you have it!! 🙂

I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and now only a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – but the rest is organized!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!!) Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! ~ Diane Clancy

Hitched Challenge

Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea.  This week is the Weekly Challenge #199: “UMT: Hitch by HeidiSue”. So here is what the Diva says this week “this week’s UMT  (Use My Tangle) comes to us from HeidiSue and her blog: TanlgeOoh! You can find the step outs for her tangle HERE. This is a great tangle, and as you can see – there is LOTS of room for variations.” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using Hitched.

Which Tangle is Which?

Hitched is the curved chain starting from the bottom left, arcing up with curves and back down to the bottom right.  Xyp is the chain (almost looking like a belt buckle) starting from the bottom left and going to the top right.  Trio is the heart in the bottom to the right of the center. There you have it!! 🙂

Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #193 : TriTangle : Trio, Huggins, & Xyp. So here is what the Guest Diva, Holly, says this week “In the spirit of gratitude and celebration … I would like to issue a challenge of THX (thanks). This week’s challenge is a TriTangle (I love how it’s almost a triangle! … using the patterns of: Trio (pattern by CZT, Hanny Waldburger), Huggins (by Zentangle), Xyp (by Zentangle)” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using the TriTangle : Trio, Huggins, Xyp.

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I am still putting one foot in front of the other at times still though this week things eased up a little!! 🙂 And for those of you who really read this … my partner is recovering from an expected surgery right at this moment – still dealing with an unexpected complication. So this week twice we have no heat in below freezing weather.   The fairly new furnace still isn’t set up right. But I am SO grateful that the house is well insulated, we have electric heaters and a roof over our heads.  I think of that at night in bed … those with no heat ever and those living on the street with no roof over their heads.

So above is my TriTangle : Trio, Huggins, Xyp Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Which Tangle is Which?

The basket weave at the back is Huggins.  I had a lot of trouble with it but plugged away :)  The fun chain is Xyp … next time will know more how to do it.  The fun hearts at the front are Trio. I had a learning curve with them too.  It was deliberate that half has shading and half doesn’t – it just felt right!!  There you have it!! 🙂

Big News

I have ordered some larger paper squares, including some black paper … and pens!!  So we shall see :)  Also I am happy that I feel I am getting better at this 🙂

I am always a little shocked when I see my ZIA blown up – but today is not too bad – but I wanted to get it into the Diva’s challenge. I am still creating these ZIAs lying down while working on an Art Card size (2.5×3.5″). So perhaps not too bad given that. I have been slowly sharing my other ones on Facebook. I changed to using Art Card size (2.5×3.5″) since I have a bunch cut out already from good quality paper. It might not be as smooth as it should be. But I am learning!

And my studio is getting more organized so maybe I can cut some new paper!! I can’t wait to find my black paper and do some cutting! One thing after enough keeps getting in the way of that. But stuff has started to clear out of my studio again so maybe there is hope!!
