Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #218: “White on Black”. So here is what the Diva says this week “The challenge is to do a white on black tile or zentangle inspired piece of art – using a white pen on black paper. …. personally, i love the look of the white on black tiles, but i never seem to have the patience for them because there’s a lot more ‘finessing’ of the gel pens, i find.  It seems that the ink will flow better if you almost ‘dab’ the gel onto the page, and then move very slowly.  Which, in hindsight, may be a good thing when it comes to creating a tile.  I find the white on black to be quite challenging.

I used a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen.  They work fairly well, but i also like to use the uniball Signo white gell pen, they ink seems to roll out quite nicely.  I also find that the black zentangle tiles are not as thick as the white ones.  i think i prefer the weight of the white tiles, myself. … So this week’s challenge is use white on black, or if you don’t have those tools, to tangle on a found object!” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) creating a Duo Tangle – Dex vs Bunzo.

Zentangle Enticed Me

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and am putting my attention to it. Spring is HERE!!! 🙂 And now we face all the repair work from such a tough winter – but it is SO great to have windows open!! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!! I had not been in a position to return comments as I would wish 🙂 Thank you!! I need to catch up again I believe 🙂

Which Tangle is Which?

The spirals with the stripes and ruffs is Tuscadero.  The black sky with stars behind Tuscadero is Star Map – all the lines and little dots.  🙂 There you have it!! 🙂

My Studio and Thank You!

I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – and more stuff is dumped in there from the holidays!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!!
