Diane & Carolien’s Weekly Zentangle Challenge
We, Diane & Carolien, love doing certain Zentangle (inspired) challenges. It’s nice that it gives us a set perimeter to work within, making a blank canvas a little less intimidating. We find that certain challenges suit us more then others so we pick the ones that best fit our wants and needs. We also decided that we would like to do more of those ‘perfect fit’ challenges! So we made our own, to keep us going and entertained. We would love for you to join in on the fun! All the challenges are listed at the bottom (Go there now) 🙂 We will be posting a new challenge each week. We will start by following the Alphabet with a possible curve ball every now and then 🙂
Who We Are
Carolien, aka Zandiepants, makes marvelous mandalas and is very gifted at drawing. She has also become a jeweler that creates beautiful and unusual jewelry. Diane is an amazing artist, from paintings to mandalas and off course Zentangle inspired art. In each one of these she tells you a story, she takes you on a journey of the imagination with the detail she puts in her work. Carolien is the one who tackles a grid tangle with gusto and Diane breathes a sigh of relief with a whimsical tangle. We have a great dynamic which includes, but is not limited to, drawing and art. We bounce ideas, ask opinions and inspire each other. These challenges seemed like a logical next step, challenge ourselves and each other. We might be separated by the big pond (Denmark-USA), but our hearts are close together.
Let’s Get Creative!
Challenge #1 Use tangles starting with the letter A, B & C in your drawing. It’s your choice to only use patterns with these letters or to add some others as well. Weekly Challenge #1: Tangle with A-B-C.

Sarah, we always try to let you know 1 – 2 weeks ahead so you can get started – so yes to Y-Z-A and then to #-C-R after that!!
Hi! Have been self tangling for about 6 years and have only been to 1 small class. I’m at the point where the idea of assignments and tasks to complete will give me motivation that has been lacking as of late. I am excited to start. I guess I would call my style as having evolved into Zentangle Inspired Art. I hope that is all right here in this group.
Should be showing up in a few days with a new post.
Lauri G
Lauri, we would love to have your join us!! We are both totally self-taught and are pretty loose with how we do Zentangle ourselves. We each have our style and are thrilled to have others join in!! We wanted some more challenges too – that is why we started this. To have a focused challenge but lots of freedom. Welcome, Lauri!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing and the inspiration. I too have been sick for over 4 months but am finally on the mend. Changing the diet has done wonders for me.
I am also very much a beginner at Zentangling but am loving the challenge. Helps to keep me motivated.
Glad you are feeling better too.
