Tangle Unexpected Challenge
Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #236: “Tangle Unexpected”. So here is what the Diva says this week “This week’s challenge is really quite fun, and i’m excited to see how you all approach it! The challenge for this week is to tangle on something unexpected.  Something you wouldn’t ordinarily tangle on.” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using something unexpected to tangle on – Tangle Unexpected.
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last several years and I have been intrigued and putting my attention to it. I put my name with a © more prominently since some folks’ zentangles are getting stolen and printed on posters and such. I couldn’t think of what to use and then I realized I had some Art Card printouts that got messed up by the printer. So that seemed like a good way to use them. Do you prefer the color or grayscale? The base of this zentangle tile is a (mangled) print of Inside and Out, an original pastel by me. 🙂
Please wish me luck in getting into this next round of seeing if we can get the construction going again …. and staying in the flow!!! 🙂 🙂 Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. I need to catch up again!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Which Tangle is Which?
Ojo is the worm dancing in the upper right corner. Cat-Kin is the pussy willows at the bottom of the image. Izland Flower is the flowers that grace the rest of this pastel painting (print) 🙂 🙂 There you have it!! 🙂
Diane & Carolien’s Weekly Zentangle Challenge
My friend Carolien and myself felt the need for having an extra Zentangle Challenge each week. Come join us in the fun!! Details at Diane & Carolien’s Weekly Zentangle Challenge.
My Studio and Thank You!
I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – and more stuff is dumped in there from the holidays!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! NOW with all the repair work to come, there will be more dumping!! LOL!!) But even my studio got damaged 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! Thank you!! ~ Diane Clancy

I had to look at that for a long time before I gave up on what it was and read your explanation. Good use of something “ruined”! I like the one with color best!
Glad you had to work so hard to figure it out, Jean!! 🙂 🙂
Very original interpretation of this challenge! The coloured one is my favorite too.
Thank you for saying this is original, Ilse!! 🙂
I like both. The first is like a cool X-Ray effect. And the color and movement of the tangles turned out lovely. Sarah.
I am glad you like them both, Sarah!! I like the x-ray too!! 🙂 🙂
Yours is so neat. I have got to take a pic of mine yet.
Cheryl, thank you for saying mine is neat!! 🙂
I like this tangling on something you would normally toss in the bin 🙂
Yes, I like the reuse too, Annemarie!! 🙂 🙂
I love the coloured one.have read through your blog post twice must be completely missing it, what did you tangle on Diane?
Joanne, this was something I printed and the printer messed up – so I tangled on it 🙂
Awesome job!! The colors are fabulous!!! :0)
Thank you so very much, Annette!! Delighted!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
This looks very ethereal. I like your coloured one of course, I always love your coloured tangles
I like that you think it looks ethereal, YT!! Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
Way to save a problem and make it into something great! Nice work!
Lady Kate – thank you so much!! 🙂 🙂
Beautiful 🙂
Thank you for saying these are beautiful, Lily!! 🙂
What a great thing to tangle on: “ruined” art. Excellent,, and the colors in the colored one are so perfect. Pretty!
Glad you like the colors, HeidiSue!! Thank you!! 🙂
These are really beautiful, and made me look and look to figure them out. Then…I read the post, and relaxed! I love them both – the color is so vibrant, but the grayscale one has such mystery! Excellent!
Glad you like them both, Antonine!! 🙂 I like the mystery of the grayscale one – great way to put it!! Thank you!!
