P-Q-R Challenge
Each week Carolien and I put out a challenge for folks to make their representation of our idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #6: Tangle with P-Q-R. So here is what we say this week “This week is Challenge #6, the Alphabet challenge of P-Q-R. Use tangles starting with the letters P, Q & R in your drawing. It’s your choice to only use patterns with these letters or to add some others as well. Happy Tangling!! We look forward to seeing what you come up with for your P, Q & R.” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using tangles that start with P, Q & R.
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. Spring is here!!! 🙂 :) After such a rough winter, we have a lot of repair work to do … the latest is finding mold from all the ice dam damage … so we have a *full* plate!! So above is my P-Q-R Challenge ZIA. 🙂 I had to work ahead a little to put out the challenge post … so did the version with just pen. But I wanted to add color to it (or shading) … what do you think? I thought it was cool in grayscale too :) 🙂 This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!
Which Tangle is Which?
Queen’s Crown is in the upper left corner at an angle. It was very clear before I added all the flowers/mushrooms … it might have been better if I hadn’t put so many above. What do you think? Can you still see the crown easily? PokeLeaf is the heart shaped mushroom or flower … the pointed one. There is some hanging on the left of Queen’s Crown and above Queen’s Crown on the left. PokeRoot is hanging from the middle of Queen’s Crown and above the middle of Queen’s crown … the rounded flower or mushroom. Rixty is the chain of triangles starting in the bottom middle and rising both directly upward and upward to the right. Reflections is the 2 sets of curves, each looped around a line … one hanging from Queen’s Crown in the middle and the other going from the right of Queen’s Crown to near the right upper corner. Both Poke Leaf (pointed) and Poke Root (rounded) are hanging off Rixty and Reflections. There you have it!! 🙂
Diane & Carolien’s Weekly Zentangle Challenge
My friend Carolien and myself felt the need for having an extra Zentangle Challenge each week. Come join us in the fun!! Details at Diane & Carolien’s Weekly Zentangle Challenge.
My Studio and Thank You!
I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and now only a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – but the rest is organized!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!! The leaks have stopped for the moment so my studio is getting a little cleared 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! Thank you!! ~ Diane Clancy

Actually Barbara, I think you did a wonderful job of drawing each of them!! YAY!!! Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
I like the playfulness us your tile and also the colors.
Annemarie, I am delighted you like this tile so much!! 🙂 🙂
Very beautiful and Lovely coloured.
Thank you so very much, Carmela!! 🙂 🙂
Love the progressions you showed. Very instructional and a great way to help us all with perspective. You’re teaching even when tangling on your own work! Love them. Very fun. Sarah.
Sarah, I am thrilled that you find these helpful!! Thank you so much!! 🙂
I like your tile and the various finishes you showed.
Glad you do!! Thank you!! 🙂
Your colors are always the greatest.
The first time I saw this I wondered “Where does she have Queens Crown?” Once I saw it I decided I really like what you did with it. The PokeLeaf and PokeROot wrapping around it kinda makes it look like a fence. Nice use of QC.
Thank you, Emily about my colors!!! 🙂 🙂 And delighted that you had to look to see Queen’s Crown but could find it and like it 🙂 🙂
