Labyrinth Challenge
Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #215: “Labyrinth”. So here is what the Diva says this week “I’ve been taking a year long course on Mandalas with the amazing Scottish beauty Julie Gibbons, this is my third year exploring the Great Round of Mandala with her. Â And it just so happens that Stage Three (which corresponds with the month of March) involves labyrinths. Â I’ve been thinking about tangling a labyrinth ever since.
I had wondered how well a labyrinth would translate into a Zentangle challenge, and then in my online travels i found a website which said: A labyrinth is not a maze. Mazes are puzzles, designed to vex the mind, but labyrinths are contemplative designs, designed to focus the mind. and i thought, that sounds much like tangling to me! Â So i gave it a go …
and then, as i was shading my labyrinth, i was running my fingers along the graphite, along the path of the labyrinth, and i had my Ah-Ha moment. Â There was my zen. Â it was in ‘walking’ the labyrinth that i felt that soft focus i get when i’m in my tangling-zen-zone.” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using a Labyrinth.
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and am putting my attention to it. I started in the middle and hadn’t put it together that the Labyrinth went UP quite a bit … so that is why there is all that space 🙂 :) Spring is coming 🙂 I am feeling there is light at the end of the tunnel!! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!! I had not been in a position to return comments as I would wish 🙂 Thank you!! I will catch up again 🙂
Which Tangle is Which?
This is my Labyrinth. Yomaho is the string of hearts that makes up the actual Labyrinth. Within in the Labyrinth is a string of umbrellas … Chimidle. And Chimidle wanders around and off and away. Floral Net is the background. There you have it!! 🙂
Diane & Carolien’s Weekly Zentangle Challenge
My friend Carolien and myself felt the need for having an extra Zentangle Challenge each week. Come join us in the fun!! Details at Diane & Carolien’s Weekly Zentangle Challenge.
My Studio and Thank You!
I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – and more stuff is dumped in there from the holidays!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!!) Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! Thank you!! ~ Diane Clancy

You totally made it your own. Very nice Diane! Wasn’t the ‘plan’ to have it up high so you have have a lovely trail of umbrellas? 😉

Love the chimidle…I have never noticed that tangle before. Fun choice of tangles which all seem to come together. This has been an educational endeavor this week. Finally got around to my ghi post too.
I am so glad you got your GHI post too 🙂 And delighted you love the Chimidle – I tripped over it and love it 🙂 🙂 🙂
I love it! I get the feeling that if I pull the chain the labyrinth will spin!
Gloria, delighted you love it – it does spin 🙂 🙂
I like your labyrinth! The two tangles you used for your labyrinth I had never heard of, but they look perfect together. Nice tile! I am going to have to look up those tangles and see if I can do them. Yours look great!
