New to Me L Challenge

SuzyMosh Creations puts out a challenge for folks to make a representation of “That’s New to Me!” This week is the SuzyMosh Creations – New to Me L. Suzy says “I will post each Sunday a randomly selected letter that your new pattern has to start with. If you feel adventurous, use more than one new pattern that starts with that letter. … Remember that these need to be patterns you’ve never drawn before. You may use any other patterns that you wish in your drawing. You must use at least one New to Me pattern starting with the letter L.” So this is a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using New to Me L – Lockar, Lo Flwr, Loops ‘n Leaves, Leaf Pod, Lexi, Leaf & Twist, Lily-eyes and Leef Chainz.

Zentangle Enticed Me

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. Spring is coming even though it is snowing and sleeting a little now  🙂 So above is my New to Me L Zentangle Tangle ZIA. These tangles New to Me L are Lockar, Lo Flwr, Loops ‘n Leaves, Leaf Pod, Lexi, Leaf & Twist, Lily-eyes and Leef Chainz. 🙂 This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Which Tangle is Which?

I started with Lockar from the bottom left to the top right ~ the little hanging loops. I was hoping it might turn into 2 gardens upside down and right side up 🙂 Well Lockar is a divider for sure.  The Lo Flwr are the 3 flowers sitting on top of Lockar to the left.  Lexi is coming out of Lockar to the right.  Leaf Pod is the circles with leaves in the top left corner. Underneath Leaf Pod is Loops ‘n Leaves.  I have been wanting to try this one because the example is so whimsical :)  Underneath Leaves ‘n Loops is Wist (the only non-L in the bunch).

Leaf & Twist is a tiny piece in the bottom right corner.  Above Leaf & Twist is Leaf Chainz – I think I could be very fond of this one!   Above Leaf Chainz is the main branch of Leaf & Twist (that is what I did first given I was working with the tile turned around).  Hanging off the bottom right of Lockar is Lily-eyes.  On the bottom right of Lockar is more Leaf Chainz.  There you have it!! 🙂

My Studio and Thank You!

I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and now only a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – but the rest is organized!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!! Dust Bunny Challenge

Each week Joey puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the joey’s weekly tangle challenge #54. So here is what Joey says this week “With Easter coming up I’m wondering how many of you have begun the annual ritual of “Spring Cleaning“? I’ve started a few jobs . . . but what can I say, I’d rather be drawing!
So this week I’m challenging you to tangle with a dust bunny (in one form or another!) Just one guideline to keep it simple.” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using Dust Bunny!!

Zentangle Enticed Me

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. So it looks like Spring may be coming soon here :)  :)  So above is my Dust Bunny Zentangle Tangle ZIAs. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Which Tangle is Which?

The Dust Bunny is the two big pink spirals with dust all around the edge too … the center of this tangle.  The Dust Bunny is in the upper left corner and near the right middle. Then the rest of flowers, leaves and nature …. not sure if they are the cause of the dust or the antidote :)  The Vigne is the orange and pink spiky flowers on the bottom with fan type leaves.  The Half Flowers is the green leaves dancing vertically in the left half plus in a couple of other places such as the right and left middles.  The B’Dylan is the dandelion looking flowers – at least one comes out from each side.  There are 3 B’Dylan hanging down from the top.  Zinger is all the rest – the little mushrooms popping up everywhere :)  There you have it!! 🙂

I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and now only a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – but the rest is organized!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!! And with all the leaks – it is a LOT!!)  But the leaks have slowed down so I have gotten a couple of things cleared out :)  :)  Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! Tangle a Border Print Challenge

Each week Joey puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the joey’s weekly tangle challenge #53. So here is what Joey says this week “This challenge is inspired by my favourite tablecloth. I have spent many hours at the dinner table thinking how this cloth would be perfect to tangle. This week’s challenge is a two step process, we’re going to tangle a border print.
Step 1:
tangle a straight border There are so many really cool “border tangles” like
Antique, Trimond, Cabana, and Dutch Diamonds just to name a few. You can choose any border tangle, it does not have to be one of the ones that I have listed.
Step 2:
tangle an all over design Use one or more of your favourite tangle(s) in a pattern.Draw both on one tile or stack your two tangle drawings
to create your border print.
Optional Step 3:
repeat the pattern Many of you are very savvy with Photoshop so if you want to take it one step further, repeat your finished piece to create a “border print fabric”.” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) making Tangle a Border Print!!

Zentangle Enticed Me

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. Spring may be coming … that eases up a lot!!  So above is my Tangle a Border Print Zentangle Tangle ZIAs.  I got stuck with the border I was using – I should have used one that was more clear to me – this great tangle has a zillion variations and I got all tangled up :)  I show above the original individual block and then above that the whole tile put together to make a whole 🙂 This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Which Tangle is Which?

The border is Easy 3’sy … a versatile tangle to say the least!!  This was my best approximation for the moment.  Chimidle is the little string of umbrellas – I love using it!!  :)  Olivo is the olives and olive leaves that dance around, one step closer to the center :)  Creeper is the flower in the center.  Floral Net is the background tangle. There you have it!! 🙂

Tangles That Start With Y-Z Challenge

You may use all or as many as you choose.” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using tangles that start with Y-Z.

Spring will come soon 🙂 So above is my Tangles That Start With Y-Z Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!  Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Which Tangle is Which?

Zigster is the left top part of the rolling curves at the bottom on the tile.  The triangles and flowers.  Zigster is also upside down at the right bottom on the curves on the bottom right.  Did you figure that out?  :)  Zivets is next on the top part of the curve – little flowers with leaves spread out.  Zivets is also on the bottom right of the curves upside down. The right top of the rolling curves (in the garden at the edge) :)  is Zipclurve – the plant with one leaf in one direction and 3 leaves in the opposite direction.  Zipclurve is also on the bottom middle of the rolling hills in the bottom on the garden and it is upside down.

Zixts is the sort of body of the plant on the right – the paper clip leaves.  At the bottom of Zixts is Zoid to ground the plant.   Zoid is stripped ovals.  The stems with the hearts that are emerging from both plants are Yomaho … a new favorite of mine!  All but one of the “hats” on the Yomaho is Zilly – the little mushrooms on the tips of the stem. Ynix is the heads of wheat that make up the body of the flower on the left.  You can see Yomaho is stems out of this flower.  The heads of the stems are Zinger.  Zinger also looks like a mushroom cap.  There is one Zinger coming out the the right plant.  Yanna is the striped weaving in and out at the top left corner.  Zoose graces the top middle and right corner.  There you have it!! 🙂

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I am in very bad pain today and had to take some medication.  So this is pretty shaky but I got it done – wasn’t sure I could :)  So above is my New to Me O Zentangle Tangle ZIA. These tangles New to Me O are Ornomyntz, Ombros, Olive Leaf, Oval Paradox-y Thing and Okra. 🙂 This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!!  Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Which Tangle is Which?

I started with Oval Paradox-y Thing – it is the oval standing up near the bottom left. Soon I realized I was above my head today – but when I went back in and made an approximation, I think it came out pretty well!  Ornomyntz is the 5 black ornaments hanging down in the top right …. that is how they turned out 🙂  Okra is the 2 flowers near the upper left corner – I just did not have the dexterity today to really do them justice, but it gives you an idea 🙂 Ombros is the little bubbles in a rain storm near the bottom right. Olive Leaf is across the bottom – I would really like to try it again – the example was so pretty!  Olivo dances up the upper left of the tile and I am pretty happy with it – I feel it helps hold this all together.  And then of course Ojo is the little caterpiller that is dancing through Ornomyntz and another one dances around Okra 🙂   There you have it!! 🙂

Spring is coming … the leaks all over the house are taking a break til a rainstorm and if we are lucking it won’t leak 🙂 I am feeling there is light at the end of the tunnel!! This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! 🙂 🙂 Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!  I had not been in a position to return comments as I would wish :)  :)  Thank you!!  I am in the process of catching up 🙂

Which Tangle is Which?

Onamato is the spiral … the one with *all* the beads – rows of beads on the inside and out of the spiral.  I love that one and want to make it more precise another time.  Warts & Wobbles starts near the center of the spiral and stays next to Onamato.  A lot of the time there is not a lot of room for Warts and Wobbles – but I do like that tangle and was looking for something delicate :)  It is the ribbon with all the ruffles on both sides.  Floral Net is a lovely net tangle – one of my new favorites!!  Floral Net fills all the spaces around the spiral 🙂 There you have it!! 🙂

Zöpfe Challenge

Occasionally some friends put out a challenge for folks to make a representation of their idea.  This week is the Tangled Thursday – Time to give Zopfe a try.  Carolien was the author of this challenge – it is her first one  🙂   Heather says “now Carolien has a new challenge for us.  She wants us to use Zopfe in  a drawing.  Here’s what she had to say: I would love to see how you use Zöpfe in a drawing. I really love the look of it, but the outcome is never what I would like it to be when I draw it. Like it doesn’t like playing with the other tangles I choose. lol. So I’ve been wanting to explore it further, this seemed like an excellent time for that 🙂 ” So this is a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using Zöpfe.

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel – although there will be some real repair work in the house from this winter :)  So above is my Zöpfe Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected. This was fun – but I spent hours and hours looking and digesting what it was that I wanted to make because Zöpfe and I haven’t gotten along before  :)  I was totally inspired by Justine Ashbee’s work!!!  I do wish mine was less “sketchy and scratchy” but it was what I could do today 🙂 Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. The last 3 weeks have been very stressful with snow and cold and family related issues – but I know we are not alone!! 🙂 So above is my Tangles That Start With V-W-X Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! I have this sort of feeling in my body and mind and I strive to put it on paper 🙂 Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Which Tangle is Which?

Wartz is the warty looking band at the very bottom.  XYP is the more delicate band above Wartz. Vega is the crisscross band in the upper right corner.  Xerexez is the thing in both the upper right and upper left corners – the thing that waves its arms around.  Well, maybe better luck (and skill) next time – I should have given it more room :)  Wist is the vines hanging off Vega.  Weed Topper is the 5 flowers on top of XYP that sort of looks like weeds.  XPetal is the flower near the bottom left corner on top of XYP – the one that should have been made smaller – who knew how it grew?   Vigna is the lovely vine growing up behind XPetal, to the left of Wist.  I want to try that one again – I really like it 🙂 There you have it!! 🙂

Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #209: “Saint Patty’s”. So here is what the Diva says this week “i love a holiday themed challenge.  This week’s challenge is to GREEN UP your tile. … You can add green however you like! A green paper, or a green pen, a green marker or green pencil crayon shading… or maybe some other kind of awesome green thing that i haven’t even thought of!!  You could also incorporate St. Patrick’s day, tangling a shamrock or a rainbow with a pot of gold, or a leprechaun…. Should be fun!!” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) about Saint Patty’s 🙂

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and am putting my attention to it. I am having some hope that spring may well come … and bring with it some relief of the winter problems of this year 🙂 and other issues too! The leaks all over the house are taking a break til a rainstorm and if we are lucking it won’t leak  🙂 This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! 🙂 🙂 Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!! I am in the process of catching up 🙂

Which Tangle is Which?

The green swoop that starts in the upper right corner, down to the middle and then up again toward the upper left corner with blossoms and leaves is Aommes.  Bulb Lantern is the row of round lanterns at the top middle and left.  Creeper is smack in the middle – the flower and leaves. Fair Tale is the spirals and leaves on the right side.  Chimidle is the upside down umbrellas, strung together with pearls, that starts in the bottom middle and winds up the left side.  Floral Net is the netting in the background that holds everything together. There you have it!! 🙂

Rose in a Sphere Challenge

Each week Joey puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the joey’s weekly tangle challenge #52. So here is what Joey says this week “We’re celebrating one year of tangle challenges! Today’s challenge is going to be fun as it ties St. Patrick’s Day in with our 52nd challenge! The inspiration came from Margaret Bremner’s blog and this piece in particular caught my eye . . . (see Joey’s blog for this lovely tile and while you are there, look at Joey’s entry – it is spectacular!)

So this week’s challenge is to tangle Rose in a sphere. I thought that the sphere symbolized one trip around the earth and the Rose tangle resembled a 4 leaf clover. Lucky all around! There are so many variations that can be done with the Rose tangle so I look forward to seeing your take on this challenge!” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using Rose in a Sphere!!

Zentangle Enticed Me

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. Still tough with dealing with results of the ice, snow, car and some more! But we are so lucky to have a place to live and food to eat!! So above is my Rose in a Sphere Zentangle Tangle ZIAs. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

The Beadlines are the beads on a string around the sphere.  Everything else is Rosé.  Pretty simple really  :)  There you have it!! 🙂

I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and now only a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – but the rest is organized!!
