W Challenge
Occasionally some friends put out a challenge for folks to make a representation of their idea. It is Tamis turn to choose the challenge this week. This week is the Tangled Thursday – W however you want it. So Tami says “As you can imagine, it has been a whirlwind at our house – Zentangles have gotten pushed to the back burner. Â I did play around with the last challenge. It was a difficult pattern for me and I definitely want to revisit it later. As for the next challenge – in honor of our new business “Wabash Construction” – the theme is the letter “W”. Â You can use patterns that start with W, use a W as your string, or any other way you can think of to include W in your drawing. Â Let’s try to post these on Thursday, February 12th.” So this is a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using W.
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I am able to be more in the flow again – whew! So above is my W Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected. This was fun – I just started putting W tangles in the tile, hoping in the end I could make it all work. I was going to use shading but I decided that I liked the graphic look :) Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!
Which Tangle is Which?
All these are new to me except Well and I haven’t tried this variation. Well is winding shapes in the bottom left. I am going to try this again soon! WIndow Grilles is the upper right hand corner – there are 2 variations in there. Waax is the bottom right. After I got going, I realized it would look better with just thin slices in the center. The example looked so elegant. So I added it up in the upper left corner too and was happier with the flow. Warts & Wobbles is the lacy strip in the upper left corner to the center. Underneath Warts & Wobbles is a strip of Wavy Border … which fit perfectly in the space that was still there.  There you have it!! 🙂
I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and now only a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – but the rest is organized!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!!) Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!!  Thank you!! ~ Diane Clancy

Love the black and white contrast! Really nice. Also fun to see you play with gridbased patterns. I really like how big and bold it is.
I agree, shading not needed for this one I think. Looks great as it is!
Thank you so much, Zandiepants for liking the contrast, grid and boldness!! 🙂 🙂 Thank you!! 🙂 🙂
Lovely tile. I really like the way you drew warts and wobbles. Great tangle.
Thank you so very much, Ann!! Warts and Wobbles was new to me and fun!! 🙂 🙂
Well done. I have tried several of the ‘w’ tangles and enjoyed them, window grills it particularly nice.
Thanks for linking up with Tangled Thursday.
