Stacking Blocks Challenge
Each week Joey puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the joey’s weekly tangle challenge #49. So here is what Joey says this week “I thought we would try stacking blocks of tangles. So the guidelines are:
~ Three blocks on the bottom.
~ Two blocks stacked on the three blocks.
~ One block stacked on the top.
~ Tangles of your choice.
Warning:Â Playing with these blocks may make you feel like a kid again!
So how are you going to stack your blocks?
Neat and orderly or uneven and tippy?
Are all of your blocks the same size?
Will you draw them 1D or 3D?
I’ll leave you to it. . .” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using Stacking Blocks!!
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. Still tough with ice, snow and cold! But we are so lucky to have a place to live and food to eat!! So above is my Stacking Blocks Zentangle Tangle ZIAs. I am learning what a difference it makes (how much more room there is in a tile) while using a smaller tipped pen. Big difference!! This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!
Which Tangle is Which?
First are all the Stacking Blocks, The top block is Floral Net. One the second row the left block is Coaster and the right one is Jessi-Cup. The JessiCup is actually rows of gentle arches. On the bottom row the left block is Cyrano (with a couple of glitches). The right bottom block is a Cyrano variation that I have always loved. The middle bottom block is Summer Sitter – all a little too close to each other – so a lesson learned. The vine on the right side (and top left corner) is Leef-e-vin. And the flower up most of the left side is C-Yeah. There you have it!! 🙂
I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and now only a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – but the rest is organized!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!!) Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! Thank you!! ~ Diane Clancy
