Turning Old into New Challenge

Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #195 : Turning “Old into New”. So here is what the Guest Diva, Sandy, says this week “Imagine your favorite go-to tangle pattern. Something you love; something you draw all the time. Is it a grid-based pattern? Or is it a ‘scatter’ pattern, that you can just use randomly to fill up a space? If nothing comes immediately to mind, go poke around on tanglepatterns.com …or pinterest. They’re gold mines for tangle patterns.

Zentangle Enticed Me

Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I am still putting one foot in front of the other at times still though this week things eased up a little!! :)  Susan is starting to really do great!!  Whew!! I got some paper and pens this week.  This is the 2nd one I have done with them 🙂 So above is my Turning Old into New Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected! Thank you to everyone who made comments on my posts these last weeks. That means a lot to me!!

Which Tangle is Which? and How I Did the Challenge

Ok this is just one tangle so that is not an issue.  But Helen Williams has this tangle Brax that I have always wanted to use but was timid to try.  She has one gorgeous image of it where the tangle sweeps out (similar to my bottom left).  I have always love the sweeping feeling of that.  But the image itself is grid based and usually more squared off.  I had this image of the grid flowers getting free and flying out :)  The hearts are for the flowers loving being free!! 🙂 I think it fits for the challenge – do you? There you have it!! 🙂

Big News

I have ordered some larger paper squares, including some black paper … and pens!! So we shall see 🙂 Also I am happy that I feel I am getting better at this 🙂

And my studio is getting more organized so maybe I can cut some new paper!! I can’t wait to find my black paper and do some cutting! One thing after enough keeps getting in the way of that. But stuff has started to clear out of my studio again so maybe there is hope!!  And since I ordered some paper, it gives me some breathing room!

I am organizing my studio again to be able to work and now only a table has tons of stuff dumped on it – but the rest is organized!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!!) Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! ~ Diane Clancy
