My Diva X-Did Challenge Entry Inverted
By mistake … of course one of the gifts of Zentangle … I inverted my challenge entry. I like it much better so I am sharing this with you also.

X-Did Challenge
Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #183: “UMT – X-Did by Annette Carlo”. So here is what the Diva says this week “f you are a regular here, you’ll know that (generally speaking) the first Monday of every month is a Use My Tangle challenge where the challenge is to use a tangle created by one of you! This week’s tangle is called “X-did” by Annette Carlo, and you can find the step outs HERE. I like the look of this tangle, and i think there’s a real potential for some sweet tangleations.  I love a geometric pattern. ” So this is a little ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using X-Did!
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I am putting one foot in front of the other at times still! 2 bats at night mostly put me over the edge!!! So above is my X-Did Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This was hard to fit in at all … not that happy with it but it uses X-Did. I meant to do the Florz at a 45 degree angle but it didn’t happen. I am much happier with the inverted version :) This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!
Which Tangle is Which?
Featherfall is the tangle in the middle that looks like a feather – this is a new one for me. X-Did is also new – that is the tangles to the right and left of Featherfall. I don’t think I did it right but it was the best I could do at the moment!! The one on the right is Floor Too. That is also new to me and I think has some real potential for me. Florz is the one on the left and I meant to angle it but this is how it came out. I am lucky I got this done at all … since I am still trying to catch up since our marriage – I am way too busy trying to catch up on the delayed things!!!
I am always a little shocked when I see my ZIA blown up – but this isn’t so bad this time … but I wanted to get it into the Diva’s challenge. I am still creating these ZIAs lying down while working on an Art Card size (2.5×3.5″). So perhaps not too bad given that. I have been slowly sharing my other ones on Facebook. I changed to using Art Card size (2.5×3.5″) since I have a bunch cut out already from good quality paper. It might not be as smooth as it should be. But I am learning!
And my studio is getting more organized so maybe I can cut some new paper!! I can’t wait to find my black paper and do some cutting! One thing after enough keeps getting in the way of that. But stuff has started to clear out of my studio again so maybe there is hope!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!!) Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! ~ Diane Clancy

It was interesting to see the difference between white on black and black on white. Both are nice, but I think I like the second one more.
Thank you so much, Jean!! I like the black a lot better too!!
Like Jean, I like the second one best. Funny how that came out.
Thank you so much, Annemarie!! I like the black a lot better too!!
Both are very nice 🙂
Thank you very much, Lily!!
Diane, it’s amazing how different the two look! I like the black one best! And ‘X-DID’ looks great with Featherfall in the second one! Thank you so much for giving it a try! :0) Annette Share humanity
Thank you very much, Annette! I like the black better too 🙂 Glad you like my try 🙂 Thank you for creating it!!
Love the sketch quality of your tile. Lot’s of freedom and movement.
Thank you, Danni for liking my sketchiness!! 🙂
I don’t have any black zentangle tiles, and I’ve always wanted to play around with that look. You’ve just saved me some dough! Thanks. Lovely fun tangle. I love featherfall. It’s one of my favorite tangles.
Glad you like my idea of just inverting the tile!! 🙂 I like it so much better that way too 🙂 Glad it saved you some money!!
Both are beautifully done. Love how you incorporated Featherfall.
Thank you so much, Nathalie!! Glad you like how Featherfall looks!
Love your tiles. I don’t have any of the black tiles so it is always nice to see what others do with them.
Thank you so much!! But notice I just inverted the colors … I don’t have black tiles either!! 🙂
