Duotangle by the Letter Challenge
Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #178: “Duotangle by the Letter!. So here is what the Diva says this week “This week’s challenge is a Duotangle, but with a bit of a twist. Â Instead of me assigning the two tangles this week – you are going to chose your two tangles based on your name! ” So this is a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using Duotangle by the Letter!!
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. So, being Diane Clancy, I had to make a duotangle with 2 tangles – one starting with D and one with C. I was in the hospital getting a treatment when I started this, so I looked at the iPad and found a D tangle and a C tangle which I had never used before. Double D’s is the D one – sigh … it just didn’t look like I wanted it to!!! But also, it was lying down, propping up the iPad and drawing at the same time. The Cayke was more successful I think but still not what I wanted. Oh well!. So above is my Duotangle by the Letter Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!
Which Tangle is Which?
The Cayke is the “fruit” hanging in a bunch in the center and also the swirls and loops at the upper right and bottom left. Of course it is not supposed to look like bunches of bananas – LOL. The vertical streamers to the right and left of the bananas is the Double D’s. The action above the Cayke is also Double D’s. At least I tried them!!! I am always a little shocked when I see my ZIA blown up – all these spaces then show up and here just how much it doesn’t look like what I was trying for … but I wanted to get it into the Diva’s challenge.
I am still creating these ZIAs lying down while working on an Art Card size (2.5×3.5″). So perhaps not too bad given that.
I have been slowly sharing my other ones on Facebook. I changed to using Art Card size (2.5×3.5″) since I have a bunch cut out already from good quality paper. It might not be as smooth as it should be. But I am learning! And my studio is getting more organized so maybe I can cut some new paper!! I can’t wait to find my black paper and do some cutting! One thing after enough keeps getting in the way of that. But stuff has started to clear out of my studio again so maybe there is hope!! (My studio always gets filled up when there are projects in the house that need a place to dump a bunch of stuff for awhile!! LOL!!)
