Truffle Challenge
Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #177: “Truffle by Caroline Broady, CZT”. So here is what the Diva’s blog says this week “Caroline here, from CZT 11. I am really excited for the opportunity to guest-write on the Diva’s blog. I figure this is a golden opportunity to finally publish my tangle, truffle. I actually developed this pattern at my CZT training seminar in June 2013, inspired by some wallpaper at the Hotel Providence.” So this is a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using Truffle!!
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I had an art card that I started to make with some tangle (Chainlea I think (I looked it up – not Chainlea but similar)) and I got confused and took a new one, so I had this one put aside as a mistake. I figured since it worked last time to work with a “broken” card, I would try again. So above is my Truffle Zentangle Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!
Which Tangle is Which?
The flower or reeds with those gorgeous plumes are SP-Eye-Ryl in the upper right corner and top and right. Truffle is dancing across from the lower left to the upper right. Truffle is also the circle in the upper left. Barberpole is the striped pole from middle bottom to upper right. Underneath Barberpole is Jetties – marbles which are covering the false start I made before. Under the Jetties are Cruffle in the bottom right. One is encouraged to tangle in the spokes of Truffle, but it just did not come out that way! I am always a little shocked when I see my ZIA blown up – all these spaces then show up … but I wanted to get it into the Diva’s challenge.
I am still creating these ZIAs lying down while working on an Art Card size (2.5×3.5″). So perhaps not too bad given that.
I have been slowly sharing my other ones on Facebook. I changed to using Art Card size (2.5×3.5″) since I have a bunch cut out already from good quality paper. It might not be as smooth as it should be. But I am learning! And my studio is getting more organized so maybe I can cut some new paper!! I can’t wait to find my black paper and do some cutting!
Thank you for stopping by!! I LOVE comments!! ~ Diane Clancy
