DuoTangle Well/Punzel: Well, Punzel
DuoTangle Well / Punzel Challenge
Each week the Diva puts out a challenge for folks to make their representation of her idea. This week is the Weekly Challenge #167: “DuoTangle Well/Punzel“. So here is what the Diva says this week “A Duotangle is a term, originated on this blog, that refers to a tile or zentangle inspired piece using ONLY TWO TANGLES. This particular challenge is to use ONLY the two tangles Well and Punzel.” So this is a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) using this DuoTangle Well/Punzel tangle!
Zentangle Enticed Me
Zentangle has become popular the last couple of years and I have been intrigued and just starting put my attention to it. I wanted to try some tangles that are new to me to practice so here is my DuoTangle Well/Punzel Tangle ZIA. This – of course – went in a very different direction than expected!
Which Tangle is Which?
Well … there are only 2 tangles – DuoTangle Well/Punzel! The Punzel is the cigar going across the center and the top and bottom are 2 versions of Well. I wasted 2 papers before I decided to go with “there are no mistakes in zentangle” … instead of the 3 strands in Punzel, I count 6 .. so I added little dots and stuff to make it look better and make it look like it has some integrity. Quite a mess but I need practice, obviously. On Well it is somewhat better (but thought I had erased the pencil lines) … neither one is 100% right but they could be a lot worse :) :) These ones that I have to be exact at aren’t my strongest suit!! And it could use coloring, shading or something … but I wanted to get it into the Diva’s challenge.
I have been slowly sharing my other ones on Facebook. I changed to using Art Card size (2.5×3.5″) since I have a bunch cut out already from good quality paper. It might not be as smooth as it should be. But I am learning! And my studio is getting more organized so maybe I can cut some new paper!! I can’t wait to find my black paper and do some cutting! Thank you! ~ Diane Clancy

Very pretty!
nicely done. I really don’t worry too much about misplaced lines. Add a few dots and such radiating out from it and it changes into a feature.
Nice combo of the two tangles. Great tile.
