I have been away for a day and a half with a crisis in Susan’s family … it was quite intense but I think we are now clear about what is ours to do and what is others’ responsibilities.  Sometimes it takes so much before families will communicate with each other about vital concerns.  Also it was a terrible rain storm in the dark on the way there … which turned into ice overnight.  Wow – now I see why the whole region had cancellations!!  It was pretty eerie and sort of scary … branches even on the highway were into the lanes … the roads were almost deserted it was so bad … but the roads weren’t icy … it is just the trees were bent over, often broken, half on the roads.  But we are home safely!!
