Pet Monologues – Animals I

Brattleboro Gallery Walk Promo Blurb

This little Turtle Mask is peeking out to say HI to you!  Technical issues took too much time today – but I have the paintings (framed prints of them) chosen for the Brattleboro Gallery Walk.  Also sent in the publicity for the show which gets hung next week for a month. Today I also finished up a simple web site for a client.

The show is in Metropolis in Brattleboro, VT.  Here is what I sent to them: Inspiration and Color – November’s featured artist Diane Clancy creates vibrant paintings that feature color and vision to inspire and uplift people. Now I have to make sure I have together the materials about me for the wall …. as well as what I am going to hang the pictures with.  I do not like hanging shows … it is nerve-wracking and physically demanding.  I am thinking of seeing if someone else can come up with us too – it is hard to do the physical part and still get them lined up correctly and artistically – at least for me.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Technical Problems

I am at work on getting this site and blog and email all fixed up. My host had emergency surgery today and my work was moved to another server. These technical problems have been consuming trying to get it all cleared up. I made you a new digital image for today, but I can’t get it be recognized by the site … so here is one that some of you have seen before.

Progress on Organizing

I have made incredible progress at organizing these past 3 days … it is such a relief. I think I deserve a vacation in an Aztec Garden. I have taken care of so so many things that had piled up … and it was pretty overwhelming.  But I tackled it like I tackle paintings … it is my creative process.  Just a little bit at a time .. telling myself all I have to do it a tiny bit … what a relief!! And then I am able to really make a lot of progress as long as I am not pushing too hard. My studio table is even clear … on Facebook several artists commented how great it was that I could see my table – since they couldn’t – that made me feel better.  But WHEW!! How good when tackling such a big thing and it starting to come together.  I find I need to have a fine balance … putting things off doesn’t work .. but neither does forcing it. When the timing is right, it flows. Thanks for stopping by!!

Diane and Sunflower Cottage

I mentioned that I have been working on painting a birdhouse for the library fundraiser.  I (well, really Susan) have been taking pictures for you as I go along.  So here they are.  This is the unfinished birdhouse I was given to paint … after a friend then sanded it for me.

Here is the Sunflower Cottage birdhouse … all ready to go to the library!! Photos of the houses and artists happened at the library yesterday.  I like to think it looks like it is in the trees outside with all the shadows and sunlight.  I was so so relieved that people really like it!!

International Artist Day – Today

Today is Picasso’s birthday and has been chosen to celebrate International Artist Day. Here is a website International Artist Day (http://www.internationalartistday.com) and blog (http://internationalartistday.blogspot.com/).  This is truly international – it is very exciting. There are articles on the website from different parts of the world – like Mexico, Canada, Nepal, Spain and the US. It is wonderful to see people cooperating across borders around the earth!!

I think next year it might make sense to have one of the AWE Projects (Artist Window Exhibit) in Greenfield, MA around this special day. What fun to be networking and connecting with all these artists all over!! The blog and website have lots of suggestions of how to promote and support art.

The articles are thoughtful … reminding us all that artists have always played an important part of creating culture … and artists have also tended to be at the cutting edge of change. The Enviroment Calls

Each month Worldwide Women Artists Online (WWAO) have an exhibit (online of course) of members’ work based on a theme. This month is Autumn Trees, Autumn Leaves.
