Gardens and Extra Flowers

Today was the garden again … most of the day.  I weeded some but ran out of energy and strength part way through.  But I stayed out and helped when I could and made decisions.  I am actually very excited.  I used to do a lot in the garden when I had more strength – and it is such an empowering feeling to be able to see things happen – even though it is mostly not me doing the work.  Great feeling!  By the way, do you need any Dutch Iris or Day Lilies?  I have Lots and Lots!! (If you are local, I am serious). We sent out the press release for AWE to the first place today … would you like to have me post it in the next few day?  By the way, I made another sale at CafePress today!! Progress in the Garden and House Repairs

Today was a day totally devoted to fixing up things around the house with the help of a friend who is excellent at fixing things.  This was a set of projects going on the last three months!! Whew!! At the same time another friend was helping dig out the garden from the 9 foot weeds … I have never seen weeds like this before here!! It is the rain.  But he helped (No – he did it!) dig up the part of the garden we are going to have a vegetable garden in next year. We got out the tree roots this time and we are going to divide my poor bearded irises that have desperately needed it for close to a decade!  So a lot of progress off line … yes, apparently life still does exist off line!!  I’d love to hear how you are doing!!

Really Making Progress

Susan has been great today in helping my catch up … I have taken on so much responsibility that I am overwhelmed way too much of the time.  I used to be able to plow through things and accomplish lots – I think I am still pretty shaky in some ways from being pretty sick these last few years – I don’t have the same get up and go.  Susan is being wonderful at helping me get and stay focused to get stuff done!  I wish I felt more swoosh!!! but I need to accept where I am. I love this image – and I hope you do too!!   I’d love to hear how you are doing!!

Progressing with AWE

Today has been filled with working on the AWE Project (Artists Window Exhibit) … it is all a bit much … but the progress is great.  In this fairly small town we have 26 different stores (or businesses) and 23 different artists who are participating. We have the press release mostly done – whew!! It is much better then the one sent out last time. I love this image – and I hope you do too!!   I’d love to hear how you are doing!!

Just to let you know … today we had the third plumbing crisis in less than a month … it is fixed now but it was a pretty tough day trying to get it all figured out … and the I spent a couple of hours with the (fantastic) guy who did the work. Pretty scary stuff … then I remember Florida with 26″ of water and crocs swimming in the streets … and the (sewer) water spraying out in the basement and tubs and toilets not going down look much smaller.  Thanks for coming by!!

Day of Rest

Today I will be resting in the hospital with my Remicade. Time to let everything else go and heal … thank you for coming by and understanding!! Of course, once I get back there will be a lot of emails for the AWE project … but perhaps I will ignore them for a day. These remind me of the candy necklaces some of us had as children. Those elastic strings with little bits of candy strung on them. I’d love to hear how you are doing!!

Lots of Progress in the AWE Project

Today I worked very very hard on the AWE (Artists Window Exhibit) – we have 26 stores and 23 artists that are involved this time.  It was quite an exciting meeting today as a whole lot of artists got together – most not knowing each other – and divided up the windows.  For the first time artists are also sharing windows.  One artist makes shoes by hand – and 2 other artists are going to show creative photographs of shoes. This image is for the Pet Monologues which is the blog which I directed you to showing that incredible video about the lion hugging the woman who rescued him. Working on the AWE Project

Today I worked on the AWE (Artists Window Exhibit) … it is coming along but a LOT of work. We are increasing the number of artists involved in putting their work in the windows and adding stores and offices too. I will be showing you photos of past windows shortly. I have made a spread sheet with the stores and also one of the artists for this exhibit – September 15 – October 15.
