These are Susan Elkin‘s photos of the Art & Craft Fair.  I am talking with a customer in this one – and it is freezing in there …  but this gives you a sense of the display – and me.   I feel so uncomfortable – like many people – looking at myself ….

This shows Jerilyn Kolbin work lined up against the wall … very impressive work she has!  Jerilyn’s work is colorful and I really like the pieces she has here!

Gloria Kegeles has often photographed care reflections but she did a series of guitar refelctions – I think they look very cool!  Never seen anything quite like them – but I sure like them!

Today was the first day of the Art & Craft Fair – not much in sales – for anyone – but good networking – but I am bushed.  Susan took lots of photos but I will have to share them tomorrow or the next say.  Here is the link to the article in the local paper -  http://www.recorder.com/story.cfm?id_no=5538453.

Of course, we learned a lot we will need to do better next year … and we did not set this up. It was set up between 2 guys and there were a lot of crossed wires … but we got going and everyone worked together very nicely to get over the bumps.  That was great – how we all helped each other!!  And our group, the Artists of Franklin County is expanding and more people are taking leadership.  So that is worth all of that!!

Last night I had an opening at Metropolis – an upscale wine bar in Brattleboro, VT.  The Gallery Walk was last night – with lots of people (particularly teens and families) walking around.They couldn’t come in because it was a bar – or at least they thought they couldn’t.  Welcome and come on in … (thank you Susan Elkin for documenting this!)

Here I am … full disclosure … I have bags under my eyes from health issues and I Photoshoped them out so I can stand to put this here.  (I also was exhausted from arthritic pain yesterday.)

Here are the paintings … most of them anyway … and the food and you know who … I was going to cut off the bottom half of the picture but Susan was not happy about that idea.

There are 50 different venues on the Gallery Walk and it supposedly has great attendance on the main drag. Ouch .. this is not the main drag and I found out that this is the norm on the side streets – it wasn’t my work that had such sparse attendance.  But I do wish I had let people know further ahead – I would have if I had known.  Oh well, a lesson learned and I will next time. BRING YOUR OWN AUDIENCE!!!

I did have a wonderful talk with an artist I had spoken with but not met. That was great!! Also I had a conversation with a potential customer who wanted my business card. I have a couple of copies of the wonderful catalog for the Gallery Walk – it is cool to be listed in there!!  The show is up through December 2, 2008 if you want to stop by Metropolis, 55 Elliot Street, Brattleboro, VT.
