I like to enter the 2 Things Challenge each week. This week is Textures / Shapes. This is my entry for Textures & Shapes. I spent a lot of time on this one - I tried several different ways in various programs before I settled back on Bryce, which is how I make my bubblescapes. Here are the entries for last week’s Big / Little. Anyone can join in, and I hope you give it a try!! We would love more people playing with us! Details are at this link above.
This image is for the Pet Monologues which is the blog which I directed you to showing that incredible video about the lion hugging the woman who rescued him. Also they highlight art, poems and more that showcase animals every week. You can see their blog here. And this is the post for this particular challenge. I hope you enjoy the images there!!Here is that other lion video I told you about the other day. This video is absolutely amazing!! If you loved that lion video I showed you before - and who didn’t? Then you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this video … it is utterly amazing … some of us have cried from the beauty. I know I could put the video here … but it slows things down more - so I wanted to link you to it. It will open in a new window.
I have made incredible progress at organizing these past 3 days … it is such a relief. I think I deserve a vacation in an Aztec Garden. I have taken care of so so many things that had piled up … and it was pretty overwhelming. But I tackled it like I tackle paintings … it is my creative process. Just a little bit at a time .. telling myself all I have to do it a tiny bit … what a relief!! And then I am able to really make a lot of progress as long as I am not pushing too hard. My studio table is even clear … on Facebook several artists commented how great it was that I could see my table - since they couldn’t - that made me feel better. But WHEW!! How good when tackling such a big thing and it starting to come together. I find I need to have a fine balance … putting things off doesn’t work .. but neither does forcing it. When the timing is right, it flows. Thanks for stopping by!!
I mentioned that I have been working on painting a birdhouse for the library fundraiser. I (well, really Susan) have been taking pictures for you as I go along. So here they are. This is the unfinished birdhouse I was given to paint … after a friend then sanded it for me.
Another view of my grappling with this and working out how to get the paint on the birdhouse in a way that will attract people to bid on it in the auction.
Well … we missed photographing some of the steps … yellow and red flowers, with blue and purple centers … then the green vinery to activate the negative space among the flowers. Do you want me to explain negative space?
Here is the Sunflower Cottage birdhouse … all ready to go to the library!! Photos of the houses and artists happened at the library yesterday. I like to think it looks like it is in the trees outside with all the shadows and sunlight. I was so so relieved that people really like it!!
Thank you for coming by!! I hope you like this post that is so different from my usual ones … Hope you are great and I am delighted to hear about you!!

Each month Worldwide Women Artists Online (WWAO) have an exhibit (online of course) of members’ work based on a theme. This month is Autumn Trees, Autumn Leaves. I encourage you to go on over and look at this great exhibit! I didn’t show the whole exhibit as I have before … I am sure it made the blog slower to load and it usually took me an hour to prepare …. better for you to just go view!!

So here I am and I hope you are still checking in and reading what I have to say and enjoying the art!! I have missed blogging with you!! Thank you so so much!! Hope you are doing well!!

I have news for you … I have an opportunity to go to a healing workshop. My brother unfortunately cannot go and he kindly offered me his spot. I am thrilled!! I will be gone Sunday through Thursday and Friday is my hospital day for the Remicade. I have not been gone for 4 nights in at least 11 1/2 years. Either I will set up simple posts so you can remember me or I will actually skip some days for the first time since I started blogging about a year and a half ago. This will give me the rest and rejuvenation time I have so much needed. Thank you for coming by!
