New In the Zone Journal

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

The vibrant, colorful painting of In the Zone is now on a journal in my CafePress Shop. Gratefully today I realized that I could make a new journal and feel productive – so here it is.  Here is the link for this journal.  I think it is pretty cool – I hope you like it!  You can also get this at my Etsy Shop as an ACEO for $6.

Since people are still buying functional items, I realized I can use some of my energy to create items in shops that you can use besides look at.  I think I might tackle shirts soon.  Any ideas?  Thank you for stopping by!

Expansion and Release

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

This vibrant, colorful painting is Expansion III – showing release from pain and contraction.  This release can come from little things … like fear of speaking before a group (well, maybe that is not all that little for many of us) … like fear of tackling a new project … all the way to the big things … release and expansion when we accept that we have limitations or an illness – all the way to the release of death.

It is often such a relief when we stop fighting what it.  Some of the time I am able to do that … trust the process of the Universe, knowing that ultimately I will be ok – even if I transition.  My cousin is up and down and I am working to trust the process … even though it is painful and drawn out.  Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.  Even if my cousin does die soon, I believe that all your support helps us all with dealing with all this!  Thank you for stopping by!

Heavenly Cosmos and the Sun

Friday, May 29th, 2009

This vibrant, colorful painting is Heavenly Cosmos – the heavens are always there.  I think it is so so cool that the sun is ALWAYS there!!  It may be cloudy, but beyond the clouds – the sun is there in full force!  And – even in the night – the sun is still there – fully sending out all its rays … we are just turned away from the sun.

And it is AMAZING how the sun is different in the various places during the seasons.  The poles in the winter have night almost 24 hours a day.  And in the summer – my favorite time of the year – the poles have sunlight almost all the time.  Northern Lights are fabulous!! I believe the sun at the Equator is fairly evenly all the time – similar sunrise and sunset times. Nature is so glorious!

And the power of healing is astonishing!  I am delighted to report that after this setback, my cousin is doing much better today.  Who knows what will happen, but I am so grateful that Vincent has made some turn around.  Thank you so much for all your support!  I also managed to work a little in the garden today.  Thank you for stopping by!

Life is Fragile

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

This vibrant, colorful painting is Life is Fragile.   Life is so strong and alive and yet so fragile … love is so strong yet so sad when it looks someone may transition to the other side.   This person is my very special cousin for anyone who might not know.

Life

Fragile as we come in

Apparently, anyway

Many babies are actually very strong.

Life can be fragile

As we leave this life

Apparently, anyway

Many people who are

Transitioning to the other side

Are quite strong

Particularly in Spirit

Courage, and Strength.

And In Between

We are also quite a

Combination of

Fragile and Strong.

Let’s ask for

Strength and Courage

For Us All.

Thank you for stopping by!

Illustration Friday – Cracked

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Every week Illustration Friday has a challenge for a specific word. It is a great way to showcase your work and a wonderful opportunity to meet lots of wonderful people! Anyone can join in with their entry to Illustration Friday. I so much enjoy doing this challenge. This week is Cracked. This vibrant, colorful painting of Cracked shows how I am feeling at this point with my special cousin being so sick – I am having trouble keeping it together – I feel cracked.  This image actually took a long time – I tried several other concepts and ideas before I settled on this one – I hope you feel calmer and  less Cracked than this!!  I encourage you to check Illustration Friday out! Lots of fun people and paintings!  Thank you for stopping by!!

Remembering 2009

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Today is a Day of Remembrance in the US.  Remembering all those who have served to protect people and to bring peace to the world – who have served in the military – and who have often paid the price with their lives.  Thank you for your service that you have given over the years – that service which has protected many people. This vibrant, colorful painting seemed particularly appropriate to honor these brave men and women.  There are others I would also like to Remember today.

Remember all those peace and justice activists who dedicated their lives, and sometimes also died, in the service of creating peace and social justice, here and the rest of the world.

Remember those who have dedicated their lives to protecting the earth and the environment – they are blessed for striving to live in harmony with the planet that allows us to live.

Remember those who protect, educate, and inspire children – those who work so tirelessly to make sure our wonderful resource of the next generations have a good foundation.

Remember those in the military who have stepped outside their official roles to touch others’ lives at the deepest level and build human, emotional bridges across differences and pain.

Remember those who dedicate their lives to providing health care to others, who assist those who are suffering from illness and pain.  Remember those who strive to make sure all receive good health care.

Remember those who grow our food – the farmers who plant and care for the food, the workers who harvest the food so that we may all eat.  Thank you for allowing us to live.

Remember those around the earth who are working to create their vision of peace and social justice wherever they are.  Remember those who struggle against tyranny and oppression and work to create freedom.

Remember those who create art, music, theater and more – to inspire us and remind us that there is more to life than living.

Remember those who heal and bring spiritual nourishment into the earth and humankind – they give us vision and help create this dream.

Remember each of those that touch our lives, each day, in so many ways.  Thank you to those who touch my life by reflecting to me that I make a difference to you with my art, writing and vision.  Thank you!

Summer Sure Seems To Be Here

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

These Summer Birds are a vibrant, colorful painting in honor of Summer (in the northern hemisphere).  It is starting to feel like Summer around here even though it has been a little cooler the last couple of days.  Thank you for your continuing prayers for my cousin!!  This is available at Etsy as an Art Card, ACEO.  I was in the garden some today … and I am looking for rest and alignment … as I heal from all that has been going on.  Thank you so much for stopping by and for caring about me!!

Blue Note Pastel

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Yesterday we went to see my special cousin who has been so influential in my life – and who is currently very sick.  It was wonderful to see him and I think seeing us was very good for him too!!  Prayers and healing are still greatly appreciated for Vincent!!  I love this vibrant, colorful painting – this Art Card, ACEO, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2″.  To me this looks very romantic and seems like music – I think that is why it is called Blue Note.

I hope your life is going great!  Thank you for being understanding that I am taking a few days why I am focusing less on art and business and letting myself heal and find my bearings.  Thank you so much for coming by!!
