Some days there seems to be silence … but there is much going on behind the screen. I am glad to hear about you.

Don’t ask me why, but they look like rows of Romanian nuns that are lined up getting ready to start singing psalms. They have just said a prayer, that’s why they’re hands are still folded. A very nice painting, Diane. Very folkloristic.

Hi Irene,
Thank you for commenting! I like that - Romanian nuns … I thought maybe it was a Middle Eastern pattern … but I did see a row of women lining up too!! I like folkloristic!

I see the nuns too, now that you point them out. But from this distance I can’t tell if they are Romanian or Armenian :). Yes, it has been a very quiet day, not many comments on my blog either

Hi Bobbie, thank you for taking the time to stop by here and saying hi! I guess we all agree they are nuns anyway!

I love the way you were able to convey such strong emotions in such a restrained way. Thinking of you…

Hi Neda, thank you so much for writing about this painting! I am delighted that you can perceive the strong emotions … whether from words or from the painting itself! But you are very accurate! Thank you,
